ROSA VERONA (9) sets the standard after being beaten a nose on debut at Nakayama, where she was sent out favourite and picked up impressively. That form gives her the clearest winning profile, and Christophe Lemaire taking the ride adds further confidence despite the outside draw. DONA FELICE (2) has improved with racing, following a debut fifth at Nakayama with a second at this track when beaten three and a half lengths, and she looks ready to give another honest account third-up. TOSEN IRUN (7) resumes from a break after placing on debut in a NEWCOMER at Sapporo over 1800m; the margin was eight and a half lengths, but the class drop keeps him firmly in the mix if he handles coming back to 1600m. SERAPHIM CODE (3) was fifth on debut at this venue after being swamped late, and with natural improvement second-up plus a kinder grade, he has enough scope to press for a minor end of the prize.
