STRATEGISE (9) has done everything asked in three starts, all at this track, and the last-start CL0-2W win as an odds-on favourite kept the unbeaten record intact. The weight relief from that run is another plus, and his Class 4 win two back over 1275m showed he is not just scraping through weak races. PACIFIC REEF (10) is the most appealing danger, coming back from a Class 3 placing over 1600m after winning at the same grade the run prior, and his two-from-two record around 1400m reads very well for this. ERUPTION (3) has to rebound from a plain eighth as favourite, but his broader 1400m record and strong track-and-distance figures keep him in the mix. THE HYPERSTENE (11) backs up quickly after finishing within five lengths over 1200m and has enough good-track consistency to be treated as a genuine place threat if he finds his sharper 1400m form.
