GAUDI (14) is the one to beat despite a plain ninth at this track last start, with that run coming in a 17-runner race where he was still respected near the top of an open market. His one win from three starts at this track, a placing at around 2200m and the strong jockey-trainer profile give him the most compelling overall case. MUSKULEST (2) is the clearest danger after being beaten only a head at this venue last start, and his season and turf records read well, though 2200m is new territory. NIHONPIRO ROGER (4) brings a very solid second over 2400m at this track and has been consistently respected in betting, so he has a genuine winning profile if the shorter trip suits. GOLD ACCESS (13) was only beaten two and a half lengths at Hanshin last start and had placed at Kokura before that, with the weight relief adding to his appeal second-up.
