PEPTIDE DEVICE (5) gets the nod after placing at this track last start, beaten a length and a half by Kaen Force after being sent out favourite. He had been respected on debut at Nakayama as well, and that combination of market confidence, race fitness and proven 2000m form gives him the strongest winning profile. ETOILE HAMMER (8) is the obvious danger, having filled second at both starts, including a two-length defeat at Hanshin after also being beaten only a neck on debut at Chukyo. ALBA DORATA (6) improved sharply at this venue a fortnight ago, finishing just under two lengths away at long odds, though Peptide Device still has the recent head-to-head edge. BENIR L'AVENIR (9) was third on debut at Hanshin before a plain sixth here, so a return to that first-run effort keeps her in the placing mix.
