WATERHOUSE (10) gets top billing off the right overall profile: he was well beaten in a COND over 1800m last start, but his C3 win from Extra Note the run prior reads well for this and he is back to a proven 1600m. Two wins and one placing from five starts at this track add further substance, and the class drop gives him the clearest winning platform. IRONSIDES (3) was plain last start behind Gran Orca, yet his two-and-a-half-length win from Leesan Eye before that was decisive and Taichi Nagamori back aboard is a positive. WINDBLOWN (5) brings the most consistent recent place profile, having been beaten half a length two back, and his 1600m record keeps him right in the argument despite the latest sixth. CUENCA (9) has to rebound from two second-last finishes, but his record with Masayoshi Yamasaki and prior track-and-distance win keep him in the placing mix.
