PSAMMEAD (2) is the horse to beat second-up after starting a well-supported favourite and finishing fourth at this track, beaten four and a half lengths, when he had every chance but should take benefit from the run. His record at around 1400m is a clear asset and this looks a suitable race for him to assert that edge. IN YOUR EYES (12) is the main danger despite tiring out of it as favourite first-up; her track-and-distance record, stronger overall strike rate and the Taichi Nagamori-Yuji Uchikoshi combination give her a strong platform to rebound. TSUMAYA (11) has to be assessed on the narrow second to Happier Than Ever two starts back rather than the plain COND run over 1800m last time, with the return to 1400m a positive. LALA JACARANDA (10) has recent form that reads below his best, but his broader record at this trip and overall winning profile keep him in the mix as a place-to-win chance if he sharpens up.
