MECARNO (5) has cemented his place as the best of the male three-year-old trotters with a remarkable run of success, stretching his winning run to five by coming from the back row and working but proving too good in the heats. The streak includes the Victoria Derby and the Vicbred Super Series Final, the latter taking his record at this circuit and distance to three from four. He can continue on his winning way. VYTIS (3) returned to winning form with a dominant performance over an inferior field here two back then got within 3.4m of Mecarno when placed in the heats. It'll be tough to turn the tables but he does get a better draw and races well at this circuit and distance. ENCHAUFFOUR (7) draws wide but has been very consistent with a string of top-two finishes, clocking in second to Mecarno in his last two outings including the Vicbred final. The consistent CHARLESTON AVENUE (11) is a first four hope as is MYSTERY FRED (1) from the ace draw.
