KING HARALD (3) is the clear starting point after two solid runs this campaign at Turffontein Inside, the latest a fifth beaten just under two lengths by Calla Lagoon in Open grade. He is third-up, has won at this distance, and his broader 12-month record gives him the most reliable winning profile. QUICKFREEZE (11) is the main danger with three wins from nine starts and a recent win at this track, although his sole previous try around 1600m was unplaced. PLEASE BE TRUE (8) brings winning form, having beaten Nordic Chief by a nose at Scottsville, and his two wins from three starts at the distance keep him right in the argument despite tackling this venue for the first time. MASTER SPY (9) has more of a place shape, but the weight relief, Craig Zackey going back on and a sound placing record at the distance give him enough to threaten if he lifts off his latest Vaal run.
