EL QASABI was disappointing when resuming at Hawkesbury, but has since been given time to reset and comes into this off a couple of trials that suggest he is ready to bounce back, with a much improved performance expected. TENDI impressed first up, working home strongly from midfield, and with added fitness should be right in the finish again. OAKFIELD UNIVERSE has drawn well in barrier two, shapes as the likely leader and will look to set a solid tempo throughout. SEMIBREVE profiles as the next best in a race with a few genuine winning chances.

Wyong Racecourse is on the central coast of New South Wales, an hour’s north of Sydney’s CBD. The track is operated by the Wyong Race Club. The Wyong Gold Cup is run on the 1600-metre-track in late August/early September each year.
