They send out for James McDonald to ride AVISTA as the mare makes her big city debut. Fair enough she had to be ridden along to get the 1st-up win but you would struggle to see an easier win than Muswellbrook, and fair enough given she started $1.16. The setup here looks positive for her; I can see her tracking nicely at midfield. NULLARBOR JANE was in a reasonably tempting race later on but she scratched decisively from that on the morning of acceptance. She can make the play here and perhaps without a lot of pressure. MAGENTA SKIES last seen in a G1 but might just take the run. BLENHEIM GIRL bypassed Wednesday to have a try at something tougher.
