LAKE FOREST was very heavily backed when crushing the clock here first up from a spell beating good synthetic galloper Mafee. Went even faster than that track record run (56.79sec) in tick-over trial here beating Group3 winner Snow Mercy. In 205 races here over 1000m here is still the only horse to break 57 seconds. SPIRITED DEFENCE looked good in easy jumpout win on Ballarat synthetic and was well supported when scoring easily first up on raceday with good margins to both placegetters, who had solid form references. DUEL VENTURE pulled up lame in the off fore leg here last start. In only other unplaced run on synthetic was wide without over. JUST FOR SHOW was run off his feet in a very fast 1000m trial here, but has some strong metro form references and 1200m suits much better. HUMBLE TRADER lost his action on soft7 Sandown Lakeside last start. Has good metro form to back claim despite no synthetic experience. LE FERRARI has a decent record on synthetic and has been trialling up well on it.
