UNCLE KEN (3) showed promise in his initial prep on the poly track at Cambridge, and is resuming over a trip that is probably well short of his best. His trial at Woodville was good, and he should be hitting the line strongly here. WIRE ROPE (1) fought on gamely to finish third fresh up at Whanganui nearly 3 weeks ago. This lightly tried gelding has plenty of talent, and with some luck from a wide gate, he can have a say in the outcome of this race. Each way. FIRST GEAR (4) ran a much better race for fourth off a brief freshen up at Whanganui nearly 4 weeks ago. He will be peaking at the right time, and Bruno Queiroz sticks with him. Include in all top 4 combos. CLASSY BRAHMA (5) flew home too late at Trentham last time out when finishing runner-up by a nose. This is an easier assignment, and she can have the last say this time. TOMMY STAR (2) made the most of a good ride when winning his maiden at only his third start at Whanganui. He has more to offer, and won't be far away.
