VICKEZZMARGAUX (7) has needed time to mature, and she looks set for her best season yet as a 5-year-old. She made up a lot of ground when finishing third at Whanganui nearly 3 weeks ago, and in a modest field, she is the one to beat for us. CHELSEA ROSE (6) has been steadily building up her fitness and confidence in 3 starts back from a spell. She can secure a spot closer than normal here, and if the pace is genuine, then she can run into a top 4 placing this time. BILLY (2) ended up getting too far out of his ground at Tauherenikau 9 days ago, and ran on too late for sixth. He was third there before that, and is right in this. Each way value. VANRIO (3) just battled at Waipukurau when resuming from a spell on a day when they were not running on at all. The extra 500m is the key, and he will be a sharp improver at odds. RICHARD FARRELL (4) was another who battled on late at Waipukurau nearly 5 weeks ago. He won't lack fitness, and is well worth including in any top 4 combos.
