FREEBELLE (6) dropped back to 1400m here last time out, and was doing her best work late when finishing seventh. She steps up to 2100m for the first time and will carry 2.5kg less. A superior gate makes her the one to beat. PROCUL BOY (5) has been a touch below his best in a couple of starts back from a spell in some deeper fields this prep, and he will have no excuses with the step up to a more suitable trip of 2100m third up from a spell. A form reversal is on the cards. GALLANT HERO (3) made the most of a gear change when powering home from well back to score a comfortable win by nearly a length at Arawa Park 2 weeks ago. He is up in weight, but is certainly good enough to repeat the dose. BALANCE OF POWER (2) was disappointing at Pukekohe nearly 4 weeks ago, but he does prefer to race in an anti-clockwise direction, which he gets here, so don't sell him short in this. GOLDEN (7) has been racing in tougher fields at Ellerslie lately. The blinkers are on. Include in all combos.
