KOMOCEAN (5) is a progressive mare who is resuming from a spell that would have done her the world of good. She won her first couple of starts before finishing fifth as the favourite in a stronger field than this. She won her latest trial at Waverley, and from the ace draw, she is the one to beat in this. PARAVANE (8) resumed from a spell and scorched the turf at Te Aroha when bolting in by 3 lengths. She is up in class, but will carry 2.5kg less, and on this circuit, she will again take some catching. Stick with her. SESIMBRA (6) won fresh up last prep on the Cambridge poly track, and then raced well in a further 2 starts before her spell. She has won her only start on this course, and is sure to be ready to rumble fresh up. Check the market. SHE'S ALL THAT (7) seems to prefer racing in an anti-clockwise direction, and her last start fourth is good enough to see her run into the top 3 here. EGYPTIAN QUEEN (2) made progress last prep, and has had 2 trials to get ready for this.
