EL VIENTO (1) built his form nicely and got in the deciding stride to score by a nose at Matamata 12 days ago. He is fully fit and will hold his form now, so with only 2 kilos more to carry in a similar field, he can repeat the dose. TREGOR (2) resumes from a short spell over 1800m, and he looked in good condition when finishing close up in a recent trial. He can secure a cosy run from the pole position and will be ready to rumble fresh up. VESPACIAN (6) just peaked on his run late when resuming from a spell over a mile at Otaki. She will be spot on stepping up to 1800m, and can take this out. BLUE RATA WAREA (7) did not fire last time out at Otaki, after finishing fourth here before that. He is worth another chance. OVERRATED (5) is proving to be very hard to catch, but if he can get his own way in front, then he can be hard to peg back.
