SWIFT ASCEND (1) is the one to beat on the strength of his better Sha Tin turf form, particularly the Class 2 fourth at this track two starts back when beaten just under a length after finishing off strongly. He resumes with Zac Purton back aboard and has already won twice at this track and distance, so the profile is much stronger than the All Weather ninth before the break. HAPPY INDEX (3) has not been winning, but his record at this track and distance keeps him right in the race and the low draw gives him the chance to make better use of his finish. EMBRACE ABERDEEN (10) returned a sharp second at this venue before spelling, beating Happy Index in that form line, and he has a strong track-and-trip record with a light weight. SILK MASTER (9) is the emerging runner, unbeaten from one start after overcoming a slow beginning and covering ground to win a Doomben Maiden, and the move into Hong Kong company for John Size gives him genuine upside if he adapts quickly.
