BLUE MAESTRO (2) is back from a spell of ten months. Was narrowly beaten at his only appearance when last in work at Kyoto over 1600m. Should be poised just off the lead. Excels fresh and goes well here. The one to beat. EVENT HORIZON (1) resumes after a break of five months. Trying to repeat his debut win over 2000m at Chukyo to kick off last prep. Placed only try here and won only try fresh. Looks a key runner. TRES SAPHIR (3) resumes. Didn't make an impact at his only run last prep on May 30, finishing fifth and beaten 3.5 lengths over 1600m at Tokyo. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position. One to consider. GROSBEAK (7) was beaten 13 lengths into 11th at the second run back from a break in a 1700m contest at Fukushima Dirt eight weeks ago. Better than last couple and won only try course and distance. Expected to improve.
