PACHIRA SWEET (8) is the one to beat after returning to winning form at this track, scoring by just under a length over this trip and doing it as an outside chance in the betting. Her record with Masaaki Ohata is another solid plus, and three wins in the past 12 months gives her the right recent profile. BUY AND HOLD (2) looks the main danger on the strength of two respectable efforts in stronger recent races, including a fifth in B1 company and a prior fourth when beaten two and a half lengths. BELLEFONT (10) was only fair last start but her nose second two runs back keeps her firmly in the mix, especially with Soichi Kato back aboard. KASHIMA SWEEP (3) resumes after eight months, but her track-and-distance record is excellent and that makes her a genuine threat if forward enough.
