LLOYD WEBBER (5) looks the horse with the most upside, having improved from a fair debut at Kokura to win a Chukyo Mdn as favourite, beating Scrumptious by just over a length and proving too strong late. The 2400m is new, but his profile is progressive and Kohei Matsuyama being one from one on him is a useful anchor. NIHONPIRO ROGER (2) resumes with genuine quality in his form, including an eighth in the G2 Kyoto Shimbun Hai at this track before a solid Fukushima fifth behind Genji. He has not raced around 2400m, yet his four-start record gives him a strong platform. WIN LUXE (8) is the seasoned danger after consecutive seconds, beaten a nose at this venue then half a length at Kokura, and her consistency over the past 12 months keeps her right in play despite the long maiden record. ETERNO LEGAME (12) has to rebound from a ninth at Hanshin, but his Chukyo second two back was strong enough to make him a live place-to-win hope if he handles another attempt around this distance.
