MARGOT VIM (4) has the most appealing starting point, being a Drefong colt from the Shinya Kobayashi stable with Ryusei Sakai aboard and barrier four to help his first race experience. His half-brother Never Look Back has already won twice, and the stable has produced two debut winners from 21 starters. SNARK GAUGUIN (7) has Kohei Matsuyama, a leading rider at this track, and is from a family with useful dirt depth through Satomino Angel. ZARAFET (15) draws wider, but Yuga Kawada is a major booking and the Koichi Ishizaka-Contrail pairing has placed with five of 12 starters. SMART SALON (8) has a neat enough profile by Isla Bonita, with Smart Laster a three-time-winning sibling and K Kozaki bringing a steady debut record.
