AFL Players to Watch - Round 19 Tips 2026

15/07/2026|Kate McCarthy|AFL Tips & Predictions

Round 19 of the AFL season serves up some genuine finals-race tension, with top ten spots still very much up for grabs heading into the business end.

Round 19 highlights include Geelong vs St Kilda kicking things off on Thursday night and a Collingwood vs Carlton classic as both clubs make a wildcards push.

There's no shortage of value on offer if you know where to look, and that's exactly what we're here for.

Whether you're after a ball-magnet ready to rack up the touches, a ruckman primed to feast on a leaky opposition, or a value play against the Dons, we’ve got you covered.

For the inside line on the best AFL bets, check out our list of players to watch in Round 19, below.

Best AFL Players to Watch Round 19

Brad Hill - St Kilda

The 33 year-old Brad Hill is doing his best impression of a nice glass of chianti.

Over his last three weeks, the veteran winger has been putting on a clinic, averaging an absurd 39.3 disposals a game.

The Saints clearly know a good thing when they see it and we’re expecting them to keep using Brad Hill this Thursday night.

Expect Hill to put in another massive shift and make Geelong pay with his work.

Betting tip: Brad Hill 30+ disposals.

Luke Jackson - Fremantle Dockers

The Power have struggled to contain opposition ruckmen all season and Jackson has made a habit of taking full advantage, racking up 20 or more disposals in three of his last four meetings with Port.

He's always had the athleticism to hurt teams around the ground, not just at the contest.

With Fremantle flying and Port copping fresh injury blows to their forward stocks, we like Jackson to have the ball in his hands plenty and even sneak a goal while he’s at it.

Betting tip: Luke Jackson 20+ disposals and to kick 1+ goal anytime.

Nic Newman - Carlton Blues

Rivalry week doesn't get much bigger than Carlton and Collingwood at the G, and Nic Newman is shaping as one of the quiet keys to this contest.

Newman has been in great form following Carlton’s resurgence and last week's 27-disposal outing against Hawthorn showed he's more than capable of piling up the ball regardless of the result around him.

We're expecting another big night out for the Blues' rebound king.

Betting tip: Nic Newman 26+ disposals.

ROUGHIE - Lachie Bramble - Western Bulldogs

Every week needs a bolter from left field, and this week it's Bramble's turn.

The Bulldogs are down key connected players through the midfield and defensive mix, with Coffield and Budarick both sidelined and Bailey Dale now added to the casualty ward.

That opens the door for Bramble to play a genuine half-back role and get his hands on plenty of the football, rather than being restricted to a more peripheral job.

At a generous looking line given the opportunity in front of him, we think there's real value on the table here against the Suns.

Betting tip: Lachie Bramble 25+ disposals.

Melbourne total Goals OVER

Melbourne have been playing some ruthless, high-scoring football in 2026, putting some serious hurt into opposition defences.

The Dees are looking to make their charge towards the finals against North, who’ve been struggling in recent weeks.

With the line sitting at 14.5 for this clash, we think Melbourne’s relentless forward pressure gets this one over the line.

Betting tip: Melbourne Total Goals Over 14.5.
