Geelong Cats vs St Kilda Saints Prediction - Round 19 2026

14/07/2026|Josh Jenkins|AFL Tips & Predictions

Geelong and St Kilda kick off Round 19 of the AFL Season at GMHBA Stadium on Thursday night in a clash that carries plenty of weight for both sides' finals hopes.

The Cats slumped to a third straight defeat in a surprise 86-73 result against the Giants at ENGIE Stadium on Saturday, blowing a 39-point lead late in the third term in the process.

They've now dropped to ninth on the ladder and it gets worse with two-time Coleman Medalist Jeremy Cameron set for a stint on the sidelines after an AC joint injury in the final quarter.

The Saints, on the other hand, are riding high after banking another four points in an 87-73 win over Port Adelaide at Marvel Stadium on Saturday, with Callum Wilkie putting in a monster shift of thirty-four disposals, thirteen intercept possessions and sixteen marks.

It’s 9th vs 10th on the ladder this Thursday night and the Saints look to have the momentum.

St Kilda are looking the goods to leapfrog Geelong on the ladder, but they'll need to defy some serious history, having not won at Geelong this century.

Geelong Cats vs St Kilda Saints Predictions and Betting Tips

Head-to-Head Prediction

Geelong arrive home to lick their wounds after that GWS collapse, and the timing could not be worse, Jeremy Cameron, Tanner Bruhn and Jack Henry all managed to pick up knocks in the same game, gutting the side that got them within a whisker of a home final.

St Kilda smell blood. Bradley Hill continues to play some of the best football of his career off half-back, and Rowan Marshall looks entirely at home back in the number one ruck role.

The history is stark for the visitors though, St Kilda have not beaten Geelong at GMHBA Stadium since Barry Hall was at the club.

That kind of hoodoo doesn't break because of a patch of form.

We're backing the Saints to finally get one over the Cats on their own patch and get the head-to-head ledger back to 9-9.

Head-to-head prediction: St Kilda Saints by ten points.

First Goal Scorer Prediction

Saints leading goalkicker three years running, Jack Higgins is an elite small forward that could comfortably find a home in any side in the league.

He's a weapon inside fifty and with Geelong's defensive structure set to miss a few key figures, we like his chances of scrapping for the ball and getting first crack at the scoreboard.

Betting tip: Jack Higgins.

Most Disposals Prediction

Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has been putting the pieces together and looks to be hitting peak form at the right time of year.

He’s always had elite talent and silky touch, but he’s getting more involved and Saints fans just love to see it.

We’re expecting to see Nasiah star in this one and have a massive influence on the outcome of the match.

Betting tip: Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera.
