Although they’re a mathematical possibility, the Giants need a miracle to qualify for the Wildcard Finals Round and probably don’t deserve to be there anyways. 

Adam Kingsley's men went down 79-77 to a Gold Coast side that has been dreadful for most of the season. 

GWS sit eight points and a slight percentage gap behind 10th with just a fortnight left in the home-and-away season. 

The Eagles, meanwhile, made Collingwood work for a 117-98 win over in the West. 

Veteran Elliot Yeo wound back the clock with 28 disposals, 11 clearances and a goal, though nobody found an answer for Nick Daicos who ended up with the last laugh. 

The Eagles will also arrive with a bit of swagger, having claimed an 88-71 upset when these two last met in Round 10, inspired by an emphatic performance from Harley Reid. 

So what have we got here? Two clubs with nothing riding on the result and plenty riding on the off-season. For GWS, the headline act is captain Toby Greene's decision to stay or go. For West Coast, it’s whether their rebuild can take a step forward into competitiveness.

For GWS, defeat to a Gold Coast outfit mid-way through a 10-game losing streak effectively ends the season and starts the off-season conversation, one that begins and ends with Greene's future.

For West Coast, the Collingwood loss was more encouraging. They had their chances to push the Pies but lacked class in the key moments, which is exactly the gap a developing list is meant to be closing.

Clarry has been down on his numbers lately and was held to just 23 disposals in last week's season-defining loss to Gold Coast, which is precisely why we're expecting a response.

He loves Engie Stadium, averaging 31.4 disposals there across his last five and he went for 38 disposals against West Coast back in Round 10, so the matchup history is well and truly there.

The Giants' midfield has been gutted this season with Tom Green, Josh Kelly and Finn Callaghan all done for the year, meaning the ball-winning load falls largely on Oliver's shoulders.

Home deck, no help around him, history in place. That's a recipe for a big number.
