OCTOBER RUSH (5) sets the standard off a strong second at this track over 1400m, where he was beaten two and a half lengths by Legal Dancer and was again prominent in the market. He is still lightly raced, but that first-up placing gives him the cleanest recent profile and he looks the one to beat despite trying around 1600m for the first time. EDICTAL CITATION (3) has not produced a flattering form line, yet the class drop, race fitness and apprentice claim give him a more favourable set-up than his last two margins suggest. GIMME MORE APACHE (1) resumes from three months away after ending last campaign with a third at Kenilworth, and that piece of form reads well enough in this field if he handles the fresh 1600m task. PEACE SIGN (8) has been safely held in three starts but his fourth to Reign Man at Scottsville was a step in the right direction, putting him in the place mix with scope to keep improving.
