DAMASCUS GATE finished unplaced second up on the Beaumont track at Newcastle but he also did enough in the process to figure prominently in the finish here, when he will have scope to improve. TEA OR COFFEE can appreciate the awaiting distance rise when he now makes a Taree debut. MELLENCAMP can be forgiven for an unplaced Newcastle effort last start on the Beaumont track when he became unsuited in transit. SEE ME DANCE was dominant when she opened her account at Quirindi.
