SKUA showed place and plenty of fight sitting outside the leader on debut in NSW and winner of the race Southend then won the Ballieu (Group3) and was solid in the Champagne Stakes (Gr1). Stayed on inside when third in jumpout on wet ground. CRUSADING KNIGHT has a perfect staying pedigree so the 1400m on debut looks a good plan. Raced like a stayer when stuck on nicely over 1100m on Soft ground at Werribee jumpouts. TALKIN' STERN ran well despite vet issue EPIH first up. Looked to have promise in runs at 1400m and 1600m at Pakeham last preparation and gets the same rider here. Pefer JUSTIBELLA back over 1400m after struggling over 1700m on a deep Heavy 10 last start. Soft track suits her better. GOODELLO has the pace to get forward from the draw and two runs on rain affected going this preparation have been solid. BIVY was sent out favourite on debut in same race wher DUKE OF OMAN improved on first-up run. They were beaten by a debutant who might have upside. ESTIVAL had to fade late, but not badly, after sitting three wide without cover last start.
