BOURBON PROOF (2) has improved his form in his last couple of starts on his home track, and he looks to be perfectly placed this time after a 2kg claim. He has a good gate, and deserves to go one better. HEZASHOCKA (1) trekked through and ran his best race in some time when finishing second at Ellerslie 8 weeks ago over 2100m. He cops a big weight rise with the drop in class here, but he did trial up nicely here at the start of the month. Stick with him. SOLIDIFY (3) dropped into this grade here 2 weeks ago and was a tad plain when finishing sixth. He is better than that, and we will give him one more chance. LOCH KATRINE (5) is probably looking for wet ground, but she has been placed on this course in the past. She won't lack fitness, and is worth including in all top 4 combos. MINESHAFT (9) caught the eye fresh up here 2 weeks ago and a firmer surface will suit him even better. It would be no surprise to see him win this.
