BAKERS DOZEN (4) was a deserving maiden winner here in her penultimate start, and then led for a long way at Ascot Park in this class nearly 3 weeks ago, weakening late to hold onto third. The drop back to 1200m is no problem, and from a good gate, she will again take some pegging back. MAGNASTAR (2) blew out of condition fresh, and then improved quickly to run third at Wingatui 11 days ago. He is perfectly placed to take this out. MARIA PILAR (5) is a stablemate of the top pick, and she is resuming from a spell. She loves bad ground, and she has not missed a cheque in 2 starts fresh up in the past. Follow the market moves. EASTANDWEST (1) has not been too far away in his last couple of starts, and he will find this an easier assignment. Stepping back up from 1200m to 1400m is the key, and he should go close to winning this. THE RED RHINO (8) needed the run badly fresh up, and he has had his share of issues, but if he is near right, then he can give this a big shake.
