EASTERLY (1) has raced his way into some good form on wet tracks, and he put the writing on the wall when finishing a brave runner-up at Ascot Park nearly 3 weeks ago. He won't have to improve by much to win this. MARCUS ATTILLUS (2) is an ex-North-Island-trained gelding who has shown talent in his initial campaign. He is stronger now, and he won't be hard to place in this area. He can win, so keep an eye on the market moves. ENSIGN JACK (3) stuck on well and ran his best race this year when finishing fourth at Ascot Park last start. He can secure another cosy run from a handy gate here, and he should be right in the finish this time. DEVILS MAGIC (7) is building her form nicely, and though she is probably looking for more ground than 1400m, she can still be a big each-way threat on a heavy track. TICK TICK BOOM (8) makes her South Island debut from the pole position, and the market will be our best guide.
