VERONA RUPES impressed third-up from a spell winning over 1900m and was caught wide then sent forward and still held them off. Has Saturday metro form over 2000m against Shockletz at Flemington last Winter. SHINDY ran a few placings over 2000m, but was brought right back in trip to 1600m off a 5 week break and has been in excellent form. Seems to have improved with each time has been tried over distance. Has been very genuine this preparation. LOVE SPARKLES has a solid profile in races over longer than 1600m and signs are good for the increase in distance. Very fit to win 1600m first up here and close up last start. Two 1600m runs nice foundation for this. NOTHINGELSEMATTERS will be the improver on 0909 form!. Drops in class and can find excuses four runs from spell. Won 2040m BM70 at Moonee Valley this time last year. Run here when 4th over 2200m was an-on pace trifecta event, and he was best closer.
