Good race. SURREAL I AM crushed the clock breaking track record (day was fast) here over the same trip and was about 1.8 seconds quicker than the other 1400m event. Has a 4:3-0-0 record on synthethtic. DRAMATICUS beat subsequent metro winner Yam on firm track, then not so effective on wet ground. Winner of only run on synthetic tracks at Ballarat when beating Capital Asset, with the later winning three more races and is an 81 rated runner. SILVER MAGNATE was a synthetic winner here at only in fast time over 1200 two winters ago blowing the start badly and finishing off too strongly by 1.75 lengths. Solid first up at Caulfield Heath on wet ground, but won synthetic jump out in preparation for that. JOIN THE QUEUE tackles the synthetic for the first time, but was beaten in fast time on good track two starts back and toughed it out in a two way go to win at Swan Hill. Genuine type. PRIMAL SPIRT went very well first run on the synthetic here last start. Didn't settle through the first half of the race, then badly baulked for run in straight. Ran well through the line when rebalanced.
