On pace runners, 3, 5, 7. WALLACE STATION displayed determination to score here on debut before he had too much to do from the extreme widest gate last start on the Illawarra Grange track. He clearly now has scope to improve. VARJAK kept trying in defeat on the Illawarra Grange track in the same race that was last contested by WALLACE STATION. He can be expected to maintain his form when he now presents third up. FREDDIE BASSETT presents first up after trialing twice in September. His unplaced effort first up last campaign was better than it appears at face value in a race that produced strong form. He concedes weight to all today but he should not be underestimated. SEA LEVEL struck traffic problems here on the Beaumont track on debut over only 1150m before he overcame more traffic problems when he then opened his account last start at Tuncurry. Improved barrier manners would aid his cause when he now attempts to take the next step from maiden grade.
