On pace runners, 1, 3, 5, 8. PALM TREE made significant improvement when she attempted a distance rise on the Illawarra Grange track last start and she can further improve today with that latest effort behind her. PHLOX was produced on debut when her Illawarra Grange effort was gallant after she struck traffic problems. Her unplaced effort must be forgiven. SATONO'S SHOUT finished unplaced first up on the Illawarra Grange track but he was competing in a race that wasn't run to suit him and when his effort was better than it appears at face value. Stepping up from 1300m already aids his cause. RYE MANHATTAN begins her second campaign today after trialing twice in September at Rosehill. She wasn't disgraced on the Kensington track at her only outing before her spell in a race that produced very strong form and she's more suitably placed in this class today, first up. REELFLARE will concede race-day experience to all when she makes her debut today. She has however trialed on three occasions and unlike some, she can be expected to cope over this testing trip at only her first start.
