BELLE TRIBUTE (1) has been in good form on wet tracks this season, and is normally running on late. She only needs there to be a genuine tempo in this for her to have the last say. 1400m is the query, but look for her late. TRUCE (2) was put aside after a couple of fair efforts in the spring, and his recent freshen up would have done him no harm. He has a good draw, and on his home track, he can't be taken lightly. TYCOON PRINCE (6) needed his fresh-up run at Tauranga 6 weeks ago, and his stable doesn't often trek their team to this track unless they have some confidence. Stick with him on each-way basis. BEAUESK (5) is a progressive locally trained gelding who doesn't mind a wet track, and he was only half a length from the winner in second here nearly 3 weeks ago in a 5-horse field. Go again, even on a firmer surface. VITTORIO VENETO (3) had to work too hard from a wide gate at Ellerslie nearly a fortnight ago, and weakened late. He has the ace draw here and will take pegging back.
