COOL IN COMMAND (2) was sent out as a hot favourite on debut at Te Aroha off the back of an easy trial win at Avondale, and failed to fire a shot, finishing last of the 6 runners. He was reported to have not handled the heavy track that day, so on a firmer surface, he can bounce back and win this. Follow your money. JUSTIN CASE (1) was put aside for a short break after finishing a bold runner-up on debut at Pukekohe in the spring. He was to the fore at the trials before that, and in a small field here, he will be hard to hold out. STATE OF VALOUR (4) cruised home when winning his only public trial, but failed on debut at Avondale, finishing at the rear of a 5-horse field. He raced greenly that day and should be a lot more settled this time. Stick with him. Can win. BRAMITO (5) is worth consideration if the money comes for him on debut.
