COOL AZA RENE (4) finished third in the NZB Stakes at Wingatui just over 5 weeks ago. She was game in defeat at Riccarton in the G1 1000 Guineas before that. She drops 1.5kg in weight, and even from a wide gate, she should be the one to beat. PERFECT HABIT (2) failed to cop a clockwise track at Ellerslie 3 weeks ago. He won at Trentham before that, and his trainer would not be here for the scenery. MISS STARLIGHT (5) finished runner-up in the NZB Stakes and was also not far away in the G1 1000 Guineas. She is one of the best fillies in the South Island, and she will go close to winning this. ALOTTAGO (1) has been freshened up since finishing seventh on an unsuitable heavy track in the G1 2000 Guineas. He is more than capable of taking this out. Watch closely in a very hot field. CASHLA BAY (6) was fourth in the NZB Stakes, and if the track is wet, she comes right into it. MAROKOPA FALLS (7)
