ONLY OPERA caught the eye first-up over shorter trip, but kept building through the line running the 3rd best last 200m of the meeting in a race where the winner sat second. Big yes getting out to 1700m with run under her belt and had no trouble with wet ground. FRANK WHISPER looks ready to improve at third start and the longer trip helps. Best work late in race where placegetters Colour Circle and King of Savoy have won their next start. I'MFALLINFORYOU made up a lot of ground first up over 1300m and will be suited by the rise in distance here after running well in races around 2000m distance last preparation. ASHINA ran well first-up on synthetic over 1500 and suited by extra distance. Ran well 1600-2200m last preparation. Failed soft before spell, but end of prep run and/or 2500m style run says best to be forgiving. VELVET CITY has had a good foundation for 1700m and last two runs over shorter trips are solid indicators for this.
