LERADO (1) has a great record here & he built nicely to the dominant win last start when letting rip from a handy trail this trk/trip. Similar set-up here from barrier two. SPANISH LAD (2) faded from a handy spot last time out at Ellerslie but the run before, he charged home here to just miss. Must respect at hsi pet track and trip here. PERLINO (3) hasn't raced since scoring a smart win in the Warstep Stakes (2000m) at Riccarton in April. Trialled OK twice on heavy tracks without overly impressing recently. Class takes her a long way here. PERFECT POUR (9) broke his maiden when fresh here two starts back when clung on after leading over 900m. May pay to forgive Ellerslie flop last time. Place claims. SAVINA (7) was spelled after staying at the rear in the NZ Oaks in February. She made ground nicely when fresh at Matamata 2 weeks ago and can't be dismissed here.
