MAMAEA (5) has just battled in her last couple of starts, but they have been in far stronger fields than what she meets here. She has a good draw, and a form reversal is on the cards. Hard to beat. ARCTIC OCEAN (10) did not fire at all at Wingatui last week and may have needed the run. Her form prior was very good, and if you can overlook that last effort, then she is worth each-way consideration. BELARDO ACE (6) was beaten by a wide gate last time out, and then got too far back over a mile before that. He has a better draw this time and will also carry 3.5kg less, thanks to a Jack Taplin claim, so stick with him at odds. MONTE KHAN (13) poked through like the winner at Wingatui last time out, and just got bogged down late, finishing fourth. A repeat of that effort will make him hard to beat in this. Each way value. WORDS OF MINE (12) flipped her form right around with a big win at Riccarton 10 days ago over 2000m. This is not much harder, and there is no reason why she can't repeat.
