TAISEI SOARING (7) gets the nod after a much better fourth at this track, beaten just under three lengths by Monarch's Valor, and his profile is strengthened by top ratings across recent form, this distance range and the past 12 months. He is still a maiden after four starts, but the latest run gives him the clearest exposed case. SCHON LICHT (14) resumes after a debut third at Niigata, where he was beaten a length and a half after working into the race nicely, and the market respect that day adds substance to the performance. MINDFULNESS (15) brings a different form line, having debuted in the G3 Niigata Nisai Stakes behind Lotschberg; the margin was just over eight lengths, but that is stronger race experience than most of these possess. PIENA MORTAR (9) was fourth on debut at this venue, beaten five lengths by Silver Noble after being unwanted in the market, and he has enough scope second-up to turn that into a more competitive maiden showing.
