NYX GLUCK (12) was an impressive winner over this track and distance last start, putting the race away quickly, before having a spell. He rises to Class 3 but will have a much kinder draw this time. Zac Purton sticks with him, and so do we. FLYING KNIGHT (14) really hit his straps late last season and his fifth in Class 3 had merit after covering extra ground. A good gate gives him every chance to bounce straight back into the money. RUN RUN SMART (6) should roll forward and take control, and if Nichola Yuen can dictate without spending too much early, he could prove very hard to peg back. SOVEREIGN FUND (1) has been thriving since joining the Brett Crawford yard, and returns off an encouraging trial. He is expected to be an each-way chance, even with a big weight to carry. MONEY GAMES (9) resumes for Mark Newnham after winning over 1400m at Scone. A recent trial win suggests he is ready to fire and the market will be an important guide.
