MIRAGE KNIGHT (2) missed the placings first up recently but was not too far from the winner when fourth over 2500m in the G2 Meguro Kinen at Tokyo. Has a strong second-up record. Strips fitter and this much easier. Excellent winning chance. REX NOVUS (3) is back from a spell of 11 weeks. Scored a good win at his only run last campaign at Kyoto over 2400m. Only unplaced run from nine starts was in Grade 1 company. Could prove too smart for these. AMAKIHI (11) has been freshened up since he finished ninth over 2500m in the G2 Meguro Kinen at Tokyo eight weeks ago. Well placed to atone. RED TELEOS (8) raced close to the lead before clearing out to score an effortless 2.5 lengths win over 2400m at Tokyo last time. Tougher assignment this time but cannot be underestimated.
