Hard to go past CONFIANZA (7). Returned last time with a solid second at Fukushima over 1200m after being in contention on the corner. Nice return and fitter again. Rates clear top. OTARU EAGLE (10) last appeared on February 14 when a good fourth over 1200m at Kokura, beaten 3 lengths. Strong chance to kick the campaign off on the right note. LIA ARTESIAN (11) finished sixth two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1150m at Fukushima Dirt, beaten 2.25 lengths after being in the firing line on the turn. Has her share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. GIOIA MIA (16) is back from a spell of three-and-a-half months. Closed last prep with a tenth, beaten 10 lengths, over 1200m at Nakayama Dirt. Capable of playing a big role.
