Kohei Matsuyama is back on and is yet to miss the top-three from four rides, including three wins. Nice return and fitter again. Has won 2/3 second-up. Sure to run well. TAGANO ABBY (2) came from well back on the bend and hit the line strongly to score over 2000m at Kyoto last time out. Harder here but trip suits and has a much better draw and much less weight. One of the chief contenders. GAIAMENTE (6) built on a nice second two starts back at Listed level at Fukushima with a win over 1800m in the LR MIYAKOOJI STAKES at Kyoto eight weeks ago, getting home by 1.75 lengths. Finds a suitable race and can make it two in succession.
