BORSALINO (8) is the one to beat after a much better fourth at this track last start, beaten three and a half lengths after picking up nicely in the straight despite being big odds. His broader profile is sound for this: he has won at this track and distance, has one win and one place from four starts with Yuma Shibata, and brings a stronger recent platform than most. BELL WOOD VAMOS (7) is the clearest danger, coming off a second at this venue and backed by an excellent track-and-distance record of two wins and three places from five attempts. GO GO POWER (3) has to rebound from a heavy last-start defeat, but his previous fifth behind Night Planet was much better, beaten just over a length, and his rider-horse record gives him genuine place appeal. MEINER COURONNE (2) has recent margins to turn around, yet he is a proven track-and-trip winner with enough old form to be competitive for a minor end of the prize.
