ALWAYS BEE GEE (11) has been competitive of late and kept the ball rolling last time when a close third from a similar barrier at Mt Harding. That was his second placing from his last three appearances. Big chance to grab a well-deserved win. LASA (4) started a hot favourite last start at Addington but was hampered by a flat tyre. Should be nearing peak fitness third up. Worth another chance. PUTERE BOY (10) was second to a runaway winner two back then came from this row and wasn't far away last start. Contender. THE HIGHLANDER (9) may need luck from a wide draw but there was merit in the last-start third at Ashburton.
