Conference League Matchweek 2 Predictions and Betting Odds

Matchweek 2 of the UEFA Conference League takes place this week, with some tasty fixtures to look forward to.
English Premier League club Brighton made it fairly clear early on as to why they’ve been made pre-tournament favourites, demolishing Kauno Zalgiris in the opener.
Atalanta remain another to watch after their win against Pafos, while Copenhagen also started with a convincing victory over Braga, possibly making them something of a dark horse.
Quick Picks
Our pick: Brighton to win
Value bet: Atalanta to win
Long shot: Copenhagen to win

Betting Markets to Watch
The game between Ajax and Atalanta is arguably one of the more interesting options this week, as they are two top clubs. Ajax have been made favourites, despite losing to Hajduk Split last time out.
But we think there’s better value in Atalanta as perceived underdogs, as they defeated Pafos and challenged AC Milan in Serie A last weekend.
Ajax are in better form, but European soccer hasn’t been kind to them in recent years. In fact, they are winless in 14 European home games against Italian clubs.
Monaco vs Freiburg could offer value due to the competitiveness of both sides; the hosts are favourites, but we think there’s safer value in the Over 2.5 Goals market and the BTTS hitting.
Both saw these hit in their MW1 fixtures, while the Germans are known to score and concede regularly in domestic soccer too.
Patrick Brunner scored and assisted in Monaco’s matchweek 1 win over CSKA Sofia, while Vincenzo Grifo has scored or assisted in six of his last seven major European games.
Jablonec vs Brighton sees the visitors as strong favourites. The value is elsewhere, with Brighton to Win to Nil. This has a greater return than the moneyline, while it was achieved in their last Conference League game and in their last four across all competitions (including Arsenal).
The correct score market with a 3-0 win also offers additional value.
Copenhagen are slight underdogs against Crvena zvezda, which is where we think the value is. The hosts were beaten by Lugano, whereas the Danes defeated Braga in spectacular fashion, and could ride that high entering this match.
Although they have only won three of their last 17 away games, a win for the Danes could be an interesting long shot.
Backing perceived underdogs like Copenhagen carries obvious draw risk, so if you are wary of a stalemate it is worth seeing how the draw no bet market softens that outcome.
The Over 2.5 Goals looks likely in this one, as does the BTTS hitting , based on what happened across their respective MW1 fixtures.
Our Prediction
Check the latest Conference League betting odds at Sportsbet.
Our top prediction is for Brighton to be likely winners.
From the picks we’ve made above, we think Atalanta as likely winners against Ajax has value, with the long shot being our pick for Copenhagen to beat Crvena zvezda.
