Juventus vs Rennes Prediction and Betting Odds

Juventus vs Rennes

Juventus sit on a perfect six points in the Europa League, yet Turin hasn't felt this tense in a while.

Sunday's 3-0 home loss to Lazio left the Bianconeri eight points behind the Serie A leaders, and fans are already calling for Antonio Conte, although Italian reports say the club is standing by Spalletti for now.

Rennes arrive unbeaten in Europe but without their main goal threat, so here are our Europa League predictions for Thursday night in Turin, drawing on our Europa League betting guide.

Before we get to our full preview, here are the key details:

  • Competition: UEFA Europa League, League Phase Matchday 3
  • Venue: Allianz Stadium, Turin
  • Date: Friday, 23 October 2026 (AEDT)
  • Start Time: 3:45am AEDT
  • Broadcast: Stan Sport

Juventus vs Rennes Form and Head to Head

Juventus have been far better in Europe than at home. They opened the league phase by thumping NEC 5-0 in Turin, then needed a stoppage-time header from Randal Kolo Muani to beat Celta Vigo 2-1 in Spain after Nick Woltemade had levelled.

Domestically it's been patchy, with just one win from their last four Serie A games, and they've conceded in three straight matches.

Their European home record is the anchor: four straight wins in major European competition at the Allianz, scoring 12 and conceding two.

Rennes drew 0-0 at Sturm Graz and came from behind to beat OFI Crete 2-1, but their away form is shaky. They were thrashed 4-0 at Lyon and lost a seven-goal thriller 4-3 at Paris FC on Sunday.

History isn't kind to them either. Juventus beat Rennes 4-2 on aggregate in the 1999 Intertoto Cup final, and Rennes have lost all four of their European trips to Italy.

Juventus vs Rennes Team News

Juventus have a long injury list. Francisco Conceicao picked up a shoulder injury against Lazio that is expected to keep him out for around a month, while Kenan Yildiz, Manuel Locatelli, Khephren Thuram and goalkeeper Kamil Grabara are also unavailable.

That puts a lot on Woltemade and Kolo Muani, with Weston McKennie and Andrea Cambiaso likely to provide the width and running.

Rennes' big worry is Estéban Lepaul, last season's Ligue 1 top scorer, who scored a hat-trick of penalties at Paris FC before hurting his ankle late on. Coach Franck Haise expects him to miss the trip, and Boulaye Dia looks the most likely replacement.

Juventus vs Rennes Betting Markets

Juventus are clear favourites in the match result market, which makes sense given their home record in Europe and Rennes' history in Italy.

Punters wanting a bit more return could look at the Asian handicap, although Juve's habit of winning tight games (see Celta) is a fair warning against laying a big line.

Both teams to score is an interesting one. Rennes have scored in each of their last three matches and Juventus keep leaking goals, but losing Lepaul takes a lot out of the visitors' attack.

In the goalscorer markets, Kolo Muani has scored in both of Juve's Europa League games so far, adding an assist against NEC, and is the obvious anytime option.

Juventus vs Rennes Prediction: Our Pick

We're backing Juventus to win. The Lazio result stung, but Juve actually had the better of the expected goals that day (see our expected goals explained piece), and their European form has been a different story, with seven goals scored and one conceded across two league phase games.

Back in Turin, that four-match winning run on home soil in Europe counts for a lot, especially against a Rennes side that has lost both of its last two away games and has never won a European match in Italy.

Without Lepaul, Rennes lose the striker who has carried their attack this season, and that tips the balance further. For a secondary angle, Kolo Muani to score anytime fits nicely with his hot run in Europe.

The risk is Juve's back line. They've conceded in three straight matches, and if the pressure around Spalletti turns into nerves, an early Rennes goal could make for a tense night in Turin.
