DR Congo vs Jamaica Prediction & Betting Odds

30/03/2026|SB Staff|FIFA World Cup 2026 Tips & Predictions
Democratic Republic of Congo vs Jamaica

The two teams will face off in the final playoff game of the qualification process for both nations on Wednesday, April 1, at 09:00 AEDT.

Quick Picks

  • Our pick: DR Congo to win
  • Value bet: Under 2.5 goals
  • Long shot: DR Congo to win 1-0

Betting Preview

While some would have expected Jamaica to have been pre-qualification favourites to qualify automatically, given that the USA, Canada, and Mexico are through as hosts, the Reggae Boyz made hard work of it.

We saw that once again on Friday, as they only just managed to beat New Caledonia 1-0. It fit our thoughts of under 2.5 goals at the time, although we had picked out a 2-0 win as a long shot. Unsurprisingly, Jamaica dominated for much of the game, but with just two big chances, they managed to net just the one, through Bailey Cadamarteri, in the first 10 minutes.

Goals weren't something that Jamaica managed all that often in qualification (12 in total), DR Congo won't make it easy to score against, either. They conceded just seven times across 10 games, including their Second Round victory over Cameroon (1-0) and the penalty shootout victory over Nigeria (1-1, 4-3 pens).

Cédric Bakambu scored four goals in Group B, with Théo Bongonda and Yoane Wissa both netting three times. DR Congo scored 15 times in the group phase, with an additional two during the playoffs.

Betting Markets to Watch

The betting odds available at Sportsbet have DR Congo as the favourites heading into this game. They've not faced each other before, but with the game in Mexico, this may favour the Jamaicans over the Africans.

The DR Congo have a better pedigree, a higher FIFA ranking, and more experience in high‑pressure knockout ties, although this is usually against top‑tier African sides. Jamaica often keep games tight, with trends showing frequent under 2.5 goals results. Historically, CONCACAF sides often defend stubbornly in one‑off finals.

As a result, we think there's value worth exploring in the handicap for the Jamaica (+1.0) market. If you're new to combining multiple legs for higher odds, this could be a solid selection to include.

The under 2.5 goals also offers value. Both teams trend with low‑scoring matches. DR Congo have regularly finished under 2.5 in away matches, and Jamaica have also seen many under 2.5 games recently. By extension, the 'No' in the BTTS offers additional value.

Our Prediction

We think the most likely outcome is that the DR Congo wins this game and progresses to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. For those looking at betting on the 2026 FIFA World Cup, this match represents a crucial qualifier. We think the value is in the handicap for Jamaica, as the Reggae Boyz have continually kept things tight.

We think there's value in the Under 2.5 goals market, with our long shot being DR Congo to win 1-0. You can explore more World Cup betting odds at Sportsbet.
